Fatima and I

It has been quite a journey working with Fatima. Since she didn't have much experience of doing a research project, she didn't know where to start. I tried not to push her too much because the purpose of this project should be student driven. We had good days and bad days, we went through struggles and joy, but by meeting for 15 minutes everyday, we were able to build the most important thing: RELATIONSHIP.

We got to know each other better and we got to learn which way works better when it comes to learning. I realized once again that no matter how well the outcome comes out, if there is no relationship being built through the learning process, it means nothing. We have to be curious about their interest, their way of thinking, their way of learning, what makes them happy, what works for them, what makes them feel encouraged, etc. It was certainly a rewarding experience for both of us and I look forward to building relationships with all my other students.
