Prison History Museum

Today we went to Prison History Museum in Seo Dae Moon. After I visited that museum I was able to imagine how the place was like during the 1940s. I was able to imagine because of torturing chamber and the cold. David’s opinion about the museum was that it was interesting and very creepy. The reason why it was very interesting for him is he was able to learn how Korean and Japanese were like during the time. And the reason why it was creepy was the kind of torturing the Japanese did to the Koreans. One of the torture methods he thought was creepy is the torture where they put needles under the people’s finger nails and dig it to 5-6 cm.

The thing that I was surprised by in the visit was the prisoners’ daily routine. The part where I was surprised was when their routine was divided by 2 parts which were sleeping and working. Even though the prisoners had enough sleep, the prisoners labored 12 hours straight everyday making clothes and stacking the bricks to build buildings. The thing that impressed me the most through this trip is Korean people were needed to sacrifice himself to protect their country.
