Jina and Mr. Weller have been paired together during the NPCA program. Here are their accounts of their time together.
Jina
For the past two weeks, I've been working one on one with Mr. Weller. He is my project advisor. Even though I miss some parts of my important classes to talk with him, I love the time we spend together. It is very valuable because I get to share my thoughts with him.
Mr. Weller is always kind to me. I like how he is always smiling and he makes me happy. Sometimes I feel sad or angry, especially because of missing classes, but Mr. Weller talks me through my feelings and cheers me up. He is very funny and he loves to make jokes. I like his sense of humor.
I just showed him my project proposal today. I will be making a website. I am not yet finished with my website, but I have a lot of good ideas now thanks to Mr. Weller. I also showed him the Reflection Journal that I have been creating for the past two weeks. He gave me compliments on my work, which made me feel happy and positive. I love my advisor, and I am going to remember him and our time together always. He helped me a lot, and he gave me plenty of support.
Mr. Weller
For fifteen minutes a day Jina and I meet to discuss her project for the NPC Seoul Academy. We talk about her schedule, about how her research is going, and about what she is learning. I am impressed with all of the activities she has been involved in. More days then not we have to schedule a different time to meet then originally discussed. Sometimes it pulls her from something she feels is really important.
Jina seems to enjoy doing the research to find information for her project. She is very willing to accept advice on where to find more information to complete it successfully. I know that Jina is really musical so the topic she chose is appropriate to her abilities.
It is a pleasure to work with Jina. She has a great personality and always tries to remain positive no matter what is happening. I'm sure her project will prove to be very informative.
