Mr. Knox Shares his Musical History

We sat down with Mr. Knox today to talk to him about his love of music and the role of music in his life. Mr. Knox's favorite song is ”Something About Us” by Daft Punk. Mr. Knox played this song for us and it has a pretty cool beat. Mr. Knox first heard this song while driving through the Australian countryside in the year 2000 and it has been cheering him up ever since.

Mr. Knox told us that his family has a long musical history. Mr. Knox's parents are musicians and he grew up playing the flute. When he got older, he chose to play the guitar because he could not sing and play the flute at the same time and he wanted to sing and play music at the same time. He said that he likes to play the guitar at parties and while camping as it brings people together in a shared experience.

Music affects Mr. Knox's emotions. When he is sad, he plays songs to lift his spirit. He writes his own music and has created many songs over the last twenty years. One of the songs he wrote is called “Unnatural Selection” and it’s pretty funny. Another song he wrote is called “No Need To Cry”. He wrote that one after seeing the poverty in China. The song encourages people who are poor to not give up.

• Drums

and he also likes to sing.
