Korean War Museum

Half of the students went to the War Memorial Museum today. They were focused on learning about how war affects people.

Isra pointed out that she learned how much Korean people respect their country. She also realized that the museum didn't show soldiers who were nervous or irritated. In the museum, they were very confident and weren't scared by getting killed. We reflected on how museums and other sources only tell part of the story and why the museum might want to portray soldiers in this way.

Ryan was struck by the development of weapons over the years and how the museum documented it. He was also impressed by all the citizens and students who volunteered to fight and was inspired by their service: "I think the Korean citizens were passionate to save there country and there were a lot of sacrifice during the war."
