The New Pacific Century Academy has begun in Seoul! Students spent some time before the program started identifying a topic of interest. This time around, students identified two topics: music and social change.

Yesterday, students kicked off the program by choosing a research question within these two topics. Some students have linked the two topics together. Others have chosen one or the other. You can find the research questions listed below:

-How do people use music to change the decision making of other countries or people?

-Can music be a solution for social issues?

-How could Kpop affect the relationship between Asian countries--or even countries outside of Asia?

-How is music important in our lives and how has it been used to ________?

-How does music affect trauma from war?

-What are some effects on children/adults when they were done fighting the war or when they were experiencing the war?

-How does music impact people who live in war?

-How are sad songs different across cultures?

-What impacts do musical movements have towards social issues?

-How much influence do musicians have on society?

-Can music help solve social problems?

-How does music help people form social connections with each other?

-How and why does music affect the brain?

-How does music affect the brain?

-How did Kpop change cultures in the world?

These are some really HUGE questions! Over the next few days, many students may focus their questions. However, by now, most are "in research hole." It can be overwhelming but the students are so into it and so excited to find out more.
